To help us prepare a quote for your wedding reception or other events, these are the types of questions we'll ask...
1. What is your reception venue and is it reserved?
If you haven’t chosen a location yet, we may be able to offer some suggestions based on the style of wedding you’re considering. Here are some venues we’ve worked with.
2. How many guests are you expecting?
An estimated guest count is fine for your quote. The count does not need to be a firm number until 2 weeks before your wedding. Please let us know if you are expecting any children under 10 years.
3. What type of menu are you considering?
We have numerous menus popular with wedding parties - dinner buffet, pig roasts, and picnics. We can make small changes to the menus to accommodate special requests such as dietary needs, vegetarian selections or specific food items. There may be a small discount if you choose to forgo Biebel's dessert and/or beverages with your meal. Finally, if you don’t see something you’d like, just ask.
4. What style of service are you considering?
Our specialty is buffets. We offer family style for the head table and up to two family tables of 8 each for an additional fee. We must know if family style is desired at time of booking as there are staffing implications. Receptions with heavy hors'doeuvres, party platters, dessert tables, etc. are also an option. We do not offer plated services.
Some wedding parties will start the evening with appetizers and transition dinner to a buffet. Our catering coordinators can make suggestions based on your vision. There are other services, with associated fees, we can provide such as table setting, cake cutting and water service. We need to know in advance if you are expecting this.
5. Do you require servers?
No, we do not require servers; however, we do recommend them. Experienced servers are available for events catered by Biebel's and will help make your event seamless. There is an hourly charge per server that will be outlined and explain on your quote.
6. Will you need any rental items?
Biebel’s provides rental items such as tents, tables, chairs, linens, dance floors, staging for head tables, lighting, tabletop items, champagne fountains, and much more. Our catering coordinatorscan help determine how many of what items you’ll need. More information here.
7. Will you need a tent?
In this unpredictable Wisconsin weather, it's always wise to consider a tent for your outdoor wedding ceremony and/or reception. If you plan on reserving a tent, we will ask about other tables and vendors who will be in your tent to ensure you get the correct tent size. For instance, round or banquet tables? Head Table with or without a stage? Buffet, dessert and beverage tables? Band or D.J.? Dance floor? Check-in and Gift Tables? Tent heater or fans? Tent sides?
The caterers will need a work space or staging area. Many times a separate small tent is set up for them. Having a pig roast - the carver will need a covered area also in case of inclement weather. Sometimes, the location has a suitable spot (i.e. a garage) that will meet this need.
Access to electric is likely a need for your reception. Most dinner buffets will not need them as they used canned fuel at their buffets. Tent heaters, fans, music sources and lighting will however. Biebel's rents generators and has extension cords available if needed.
We also want to understand the surface you plan to put the tent on. It should be flat and free of any obstructions. Our pole tents require Digger's Hotline prior to setup as large stakes are pounded into the ground to secure the tent. Frame tents are available that do not need staking but are limited in size.
Be advised there are only a limited number of tents available and they are very popular. We rarely can accomodate a last minute request. A 100% cancellation charge will apply if your tent is cancelled less than 30 days prior to your wedding date.
8. Do you plan to use disposable or china place settings?
Biebel's is happy to offer buffets for parties using either disposable or china dinnerware items. However, even if you are not renting china through us, we need to know when booking if you plan to use china because staffing needs increase due to additional responsibilities and needs when servicing china.

9. Does Biebel's offer food tastings?
We are currently not offering tastings to ensure we are able to dedicate our full attention to our booked events during peak event season (end of May - early October). However, we will start tasting again in late October 2024 until early May 2025 again. Wedding tastings are available on Thursdays and Fridays each week - some exceptions may apply for holidays.
A minimum of one pound or one piece per item is required. Some items may have a larger minimum ordering requirement. Certain food items are not available for tastings. There is an a la carte charge for your selected items. They must be ordered a minimum of 1 week in advance. Payment is due at time of order. You pick up your tasting at Biebel’s hot or cold - between 9a - 5p, packaged to-go, to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. We do not offer sit down tastings inside the store.
10. How do we finalize our date with Biebel's?
We will hold your wedding date in our schedule when you provide a $200 non-refundable deposit along with a credit card on file and a signed contract. If you're interested in renting items only without the catering, we require a 25% deposit, credit card on file and signed contract. Either deposit will be applied to your final balance.
11. Does Biebel's offer bartending or liquor services?
We do! Gerczak’s Liquor & Catering has joined the Biebel's family and is available for bartending and liquor services. If needed, we also have tables, bar tops, linens and glassware for your event. Give us a call for more info or to talk to our Gerczak's coordinator.
12. How early should we pay our deposit?
We accept deposits as early as you'd like to get your event booked in our schedule. Deposits are non-refundable.
